Two years following the death of Howard and Maria Stark, Stark Industries announced it would be working together with Wayne Enterprises. A move made by the newly appointed CEO, Howard’s son, Tony. Their project was one Tony had found buried away in Howard's old files. Test Tube babies, a experiment the deceased never got around to doing. It was an impossible feat but Tony was going to prove otherwise.

He and Wayne, being partners in the project, decided to be the donors. Twelve systems were set up in the labs at the Stark laboratories in Manhattan. Each carried the donated sperm by the billionaires. The first eleven tubes hadn't lasted long, and the remaining one wasn't expected to make it. Nine months passed and on the twnety-second of July, 1995, both Billionaires were called back to the labs for the final test results. Upon arrival, both were greeted by one of the scientists of the projects, in their arms was a tiny baby wrapped in a blanket.

The plan was that the successful result was to be sent to a family but Tony couldn’t find it in himself to let this baby, his baby, be sent off to live with a random family. He wasn’t father material and feared he would screw up his child just as his father had with him, but he still went through with it.

There was no custody battle, both men agreed upon a joint custody, more as a formality on Wayne’s part. Selena lived with Tony for most of her life in California, with frequent visits across the country to visit Peggy Carter, Tony’s godmother and her self-proclaimed grandmother.

Selena was very loved by the public. A bright-eyed child who was friendly, full of light, and very smart for her age, she was placed upon a pedestal. While many loved her, others expected her to turn out like Tony. Something said billionaire was hellbent on preventing.

As a young kid, she loved the spotlight, she soaked up the admiration and love, but that changed as she got older. Selena grew to hate the pedestal that people put her on. She hated that people had expectations they wanted her to live up to. The flashing lights hurt her eyes, the trips and trinkets didn’t make her happy, and the crowds of people made her anxious, to the point where a few breakdowns have occurred, from being overcrowded.
